An Alternative Node During the Easter Art Tour
As part of the Easter art activities on Österlen, Schhh Vardagsrummet offers a different kind of art experience – one that activates hearing and space rather than sight. Here installation, composition, and improvisation meet in an everyday setting. An invitation to listen, spend time together, and experience art in another way.
Participants
Tvinna is a duo consisting of Julija Morgan Kiibus (violinist and cartoonist ) and Tove Bagge (violast). The duo has focused on interpreting and performing graphic scores with improvisation as a starting point. They have previously performed Julija’s graphic works, which draw on the narrative structures and panel format of comics.
Through close interplay, they move in the borderland between composition and improvisation, exploring the qualities of two-part musical dialogue. Tvinna has performed on stages in Malmö, Lund, Copenhagen, and Oslo.
Lise-Lotte Norelius is a composer and sound artist working within electronic music. She creates works for larger loudspeaker systems, for musicians with live electronics, and for dance productions. As a live artist, she performs her own electroacoustic works and frequently improvises together with musicians and artists from different fields.
In her performances she primarily uses a computer with the software Max/MSP, microphone-amplified objects, and small homemade synthesizers, whose sounds are processed in real time. Artist in residence: 26 March – 7 April
John Bowers is a British sound artist, improvising musician, and researcher working with modular synthesizers, homemade electronic instruments, field recordings, and self-developed software for performance, installations, and experimental sound environments.
He combines sound, image, and human gesture in performative settings and has appeared at international festivals including the collateral programme of the Venice Biennale, Transmediale/CTM in Berlin, and Piksel in Bergen. Artist in residence: 26 March – 7 April
Schhh Artist Group
Ann Rosén and Sten-Olof Hellström run Schhh…, a platform for music and sound art that supports new works and creative encounters. Ann Rosén and Sten-Olof Hellström, composers and sound artists, create both electroacoustic music and music for various types of ensembles. Their works have been performed around the world. They also perform live electronics, mainly in Europe but occasionally elsewhere internationally.
Their work focuses on renewing, developing, and deepening their artistic expression, and includes the development of their own tools, electronic instruments, forms of interaction, and methods for sound synthesis.
