Open Call - Schhh Artist Residency

OPEN CALL – Schhh Artist Residency – Autumn 2026

We’re now welcoming applications for our autumn residency period in Östra Hoby.

We welcome composers and sound artists working with electroacoustic practices such as live electronics, fixed media, sound art, or experimental art music.

The residency takes place in Östra Hoby, a small and peaceful village in the scenic and artistically rich region of Österlen. The sea is within walking distance, and there is a bus stop 100 meters away with connections to Malmö and just a 2-hour journey to Copenhagen Airport. A quiet place for focused work and also part of a vibrant local context.

 

We provide:

  • Shared studio for sound production

  • Access to a shared project room with multichannel speaker setup and excellent listening conditions, opportunities to experiment with surround sound, speaker orchestras, and movable setups

  • Small DIY electronics workshop with soldering station

  • Artistic and local support networks

  • Opportunities for local collaboration with artists and communities

  • Private room with desk, mixer, and headphones – work directly in your own space

  • Artist fee 7000 SEK (incl. tax), invoiced by the artist.

We expect:

  • An informal artist talk, gathering (fika or dinner) with neighbors and local creatives.

  • A public event (e.g. concert, sound art installation, performance)  Date and time tba.

Residency periods:

International artists and artists resident in Skåne, Sweden

6 August – 18 August
8 September – 21 September
20 October – 2 November


We prioritize projects that involve collaboration between international artists and artists resident in Skåne, Sweden.

Artists resident in the Nordic and Baltic region (except Sweden) may apply for a residens
September – October, exact dates will be negotiated with the accepted applicants.

How to apply:

Send an email with “Schhh Residency Autumn 2026” in the subject line, to project@schhh.se  

Submit a PDF document containing the following:

  • An updated cv (max 1,  A4)

  • Project proposal (max 500 words)

  • Describe what you hope to achieve with the residency and how it can benefit your career (max 300 words).

  • A project summary and bio for web publication ( max 200 words)

  • Link to a photo of you for web publication

  • Link to an image representing your planned project for web publication

  • Links to previous audio works (Please use youtube, soundcloud or similar. Do not send any audio or video files, or links for download)

  • Links to your website, instagram, youtube a.o.

  • Rank desired periods 

Accepted applicants will be notified in April.
