18 november: An Evening with Baltic Artists in Development 2.0

An Evening with Baltic Artists in Development 2.0

Thursday 18 Nov
Rehab Kultur, Spånehusvägen 83
At. 18.30-20.30

Meet the participating musicians, managers and organisations of Baltic Artists in Developments for an inspirational evening with talks mingle and pizza!

We start off with a conversation with local musician and multi-artist NOS who has chosen to completely turn his back to digital communication. How is that even possible in today's society?

Wizard of Acid – N O S – Fredrik Holm – is a multi talented artist best known for his unique ”Hardware Acid” live sets, his spectacular backdrop paintings and as a rave organizer. NOS has chosen a singular path and is maintaining his position in the underground music scene by completely avoiding recording or filming his performances. Everything he does he wants to experience live in the moment together with his fans.

During the evening you can also meet Jocelyn Ibarra from The Time Travel Agency.

Jocelyn is an artist and designer leading The Time Travel Agency, a speculative design studio. They create products, experimental methods, and participatory experiences that prepare people to reach the future in order to imagine it differently. At our event, she is running The Laboratory of Future Sound https://thetimetravel.agency/

Earlier in the day she is going to work with the participants of Baltic Artists in Development in “The Laboratory of Future Sound”. The participants (aka – time travelers) are going to be given the opportunity to glimpse at a preferred future and create artifacts and prototypes for it.

During three days in Malmö musicians, managers and music organisations from Estonia, Poland, Ukraine and Sweden meet to brainstorm around the topic of music business structures across the Batic Sea. We workshop and network around innovative ideas, business models and sustainable artistic development.

Musikcentrum Syds participants in the project are: Love Kjellsson, Brita Björs, Linus Lindvall and Frøydis Bergheim Ruud.

Baltic Artists in Development is an artist management and innovation programme by Musikcentrum Syd (Malmö, Sweden), Music Estonia (Tallinn, Estonia), Tak Brzimi Miasto (Krakow, Poland) and Music Export Ukraine (Kyiv, Ukraine). The programme is aimed at self-managing artists and independent artist managers, and consists of creative events focusing on various music industry topics, music business innovation and local workshops, planned and executed by every partner organisation. Our goal is to create a future platform where we can share knowledge and expertise.
